Fortissimo Film Sales enjoyed a busy Mifed having struck deals on its foreign-language Oscar hopeful La Spagnola and a range of other titles.

An Australian comedy directed by Steve Jacobs, La Spagnola was sold to Araba Films for Spain, Mongkol Cinema for Thailand, Quality Films for Mexico, Gil for Israel and Blanco & Travieso for Venezuela. At the earlier London Screenings deals on the film included Sinocom (Taiwan), JLD Image (France), AVE (Greece), and Quality Films (Mexico).

Proving once again that it was much the most active Japanese buyer, Gaga Communications bought Sergei Bodrov's Bear's Kiss, the new film from the director of Prisoner Of The Mountain, on which Fortissimo has Asian rights. Gaga, Bo Eun of Korea and Mongkol Cinema of Thailand all bought Hou Hsiao-hsien's Cannes competition film Millennium Mambo.

Fortissimo's new pick-up Tian Zhuangzhuang's Springtime In A Small Town, was sold to AVE for Greece. Paradis Films/Orly Films pre-bought the picture for France, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

Nonzee Nimibutr's, erotic Thai drama Jan Dara was sold to JLD Image for France and PWI for Chile and Gil of Israel bought Hush!

In London Fortissimo completed sales of Quitting to Quality Films of Mexico; Magonia to Tohokushinsha of Japan; All About Lily Chou Chou to Cowboy Films for North America; and Devils On The Doorstep to Amik Films for Spain.
