Fox Searchlight Pictures isreteaming with director Jay Chandrasekhar and his Broken Lizard comedy group,the team behind its Sundance acquisition hit Super Troopers, on Broken Lizard's Club Dread. The film, which has already started principalphotography in Mexico, also stars Bill Paxton.

Searchlight picked up SuperTroopers at Sundance 2001 andgrossed $18.5m on its US release alone in Feb this year. Broken Lizard, whichconsists of Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and ErikStolhanske, also wrote the film which sees the group - and Paxton -on a booze and women-soaked island resort which is suddenly attacked by amachete-wielding killer on the loose. Other co-stars include Brittany Daniel,MC Gainey, Jordan Ladd, Tanja Reichert, Samm Levine and Lindsey Price.

The film is a Cataland Filmsproduction with Richard Perello acting as producer, Conrad Hool co-producer andLance Hool and Peter Lengyel as executive producers.

BrokenLizard's first film Puddle Cruiser, also directed by Chandrasekhar, was a festival favourite,playing at Sundance, London and Berlin among other events, but it was SuperTroopers which was thegroup's breakout film.
