The star of 2004's highestgrossing film Les Choristes, Gerard Jugnot, opened strongly with hislatest director/star turn Boudu.

Boudu ranked number one and generated just over half amillion admissions in its first week. Ray fell to number two with a cumulative$7,281,905 in its third week.

Jennifer Garner vehicle Elektrawas number three in its debut week with 241,007 tickets sold on 496 screens.

Wes Andersen's The LifeAcquatic With Steve Zissou bowed in the 6th spot for a strongper screen average at $4,873 in just 185 theatres. Recent chart toppers LeCouperet, Meet The Fockers, Constantine and Assault On Precinct 13all dropped at least two rungs with French comedy, and former number one film, EspaceDetente losing 64% of its audience in its 6th week.

New entries included TeamAmerica: World Police which debuted at number 15 on 147 screens totake $305,520 followed by Trouble at 16 and The Syrian Bride atnumber 19 which sold 32,019 tickets on 61 screens.
