France's public television holding company, France Televisions, has signed an agreement with local film producers which increases the number of feature films airing on its channels as well as guaranteeing higher investment in film production.

France Televisions is comprised of channels France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5 and France O.

The agreement between France Television and producers groups ARP (representing writers, directors and producers), BLIC (representing independent producers and distributors) and BLOC (representing the majors) extends the total number of features aired on the channels from 360 to 420 per year.

Further, the accord will see France 2 and France 3 increase their investment in local and European film production to 3.3% for 2008, 3.4% for 2009 and 3.5% in 2010. The investments are a percentage of the channels' annual revenues.
