Continuing on its impressive opening, Francis Veber's buddy comedy Rudy & Quentin remains at number one with a mere 18% drop off from last week. The film passed the one million admissions mark in less than two weeks which will likely land it among France's highest grossers this year.

With little competition the rest of the line up remains much the same, but with Tonie Marshall's newest film France Boutique starring Karin Viard and Francois Cluzet opening at number 5 with a healthy 222,611.

Freddy Vs. Jason disappointed somewhat at the box office, despite the benefit of opening during Halloween week - although Halloween is hardly a French holiday the country embraced it this year as never before, at least in terms of marketing - and a big ad campaign.

Nicole Kidman/Anthony Hopkins starrer The Human Stain underperformed on 200 screens bringing in just under $1m. Despite the film's star power, the Europa Corp. pick-up was hindered by lack of movie-goer awareness of the Philip Roth book upon which the film is based, however positive word of mouth could give it a boost.
