John Fremes' Fusion International Sales has partnered with LA-based Hi-Def Alliance Studio Group to produce The Machinist shot entirely in high definition and then transferred to 35mm film for theatrical release. Written by Steven Bratter (Demolition Man) and Phil Perlson, the movie is an action/adventure directed and produced by Bratter and Faye Schwab (Demolition Man, The Morning After).

Hi-Def Alliance Studio Group is an initiative of Bratter Broadband Inc (BBI), Smart Films and Engram Digital Productions. BBI is a creative studio which aims to foster cutting edge technology in entertainment media. The alliance, which is open to other production companies as a consulting service, is also producing Seven And A Match produced by Smart Films and starring Heather Donahue - star of The Blair Witch Project.

Seven And A Match which is being produced by Bratter, David Effress, Mickey Cottrell and Peter Brook is currently in post-production at Smart Films. Described as a "twentysomething Big Chill", the movie had scenes screened at Sony's Hi-Def panel at Sundance 2000.
