Gala Films has nabbed all UK rights to Beto Brant's The Trespasser (O Invasor), winner of the Sundance Best Latin American feature this year.

Brazilian international sales agent Grupo Novo closed the deal with the arthouse distributor today in Cannes. According to Grupo Novo sales chief Alfredo Calvino, Gala Films plans to release Brant's gripping portrayal of the Sao Paolo underworld on an initial six prints following the London Film Festival. Gala will be presenting the film to the festival for possible participation.

The Trespasser, co produced by Drama Filmes and Walter Salles' VideoFilmes, is an account of two business partners who unwittingly set off a nightmarish chain of events when they hire a contract killer to liquidate a third partner.

ID Distribution picked up French rights at the AFM last February and Dream Entertainment grabbed all Israel rights before Cannes.
