Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International (CTFDI) scored atable topping double whammy over the weekend with number one bows for GangsOf New York inMexico and Colombia. In Mexico the picture grossed an estimated $1.1m from 350prints - more than double the number two picture - while the smallerColombian market yielded $120,000 from 30 prints. CTFDI has distribution rightsfor Latin America and Australia and will open Brazil on Feb 7 and Australia onFeb 13.

National Security opened at number two in Spain on $1.2m from 275 screens, roughlyon a par with star Martin Lawrence's previous outing with Blue Streak in 1999. The opening was close tothe comedy's US bow and will roll out in the German-speaking territories towardthe end of February, UK and Sweden in March and Australia in April.
