German film investor CP Medien, who raised €450m from private investors to channel into around 40 films between 1995 and 2002, is currently being wound up.

Originally launched in 1995 by entrepreneur Rolf Deyhle as KC Medien, the five film fund placements had backed such films as Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, Enemy At The Gates, Asterix and Obelix Meet Cleopatra, The Cat’s Meow, and Amen. CP Medien had moved its headquarters from Stuttgart to Ludwigsburg in 2001.

According to a report this week in the local newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung, CP Medien’s CEO Ralf Hartmann plans to continue working in the film industry through the CP Medien production/distribution subsidiary Capella Films. He is reportedly looking to attract “a small international production” to shoot in Ludwigsburg this year.
