New feature films by Lone Scherfig, Hans Weingartner andOskar Roehler are among 21 projects backed by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburgwith over Euros 4.5m in its latest funding session.

Euros 400,000 was awarded to Danish filmmaker Lone Scherfigfor her World War II drama Good, based on C.P. Taylor's play, which willbe produced at Berlin locations this summer by Studio Hamburg Letterbox Berlinwith the UK's Tailor-Made Films and Axiom Films.

Edukators director Hans Weingartnerreceived Euros 25,000 to support his science fiction project Code 82which is currently at script stage and will be produced through the director'sown production outfit, Y3 Films.

The Medienboard also provided Euros 670,000 for OskarRoehler's adaptation of Michel Houellebecq's cult novel Atomised to beproduced by Moovie the art of entertainment and Constantin Film.

Euros 200,000 was given to coming of age tale Oswiecim,the second feature by Robert Thalheim whose debut Net [Netto] screened in thePerspektive Deutsches Kino at this year's Berlinale. The film will be shot inand around Auschwitz in Poland this summer.

The largest funding amount - Euros 800,000 - went to Hofmann& Voges Entertainment/Senator Film's production of Gregor Schnitzler'scomedy Special, starring Til Schweiger, Felicitas Woll and BastianPastewka.
