Distributor X-Verleih scored another local comedy hit this weekend with Learning To Lie (Liegen Lernen). Hendrik Handloegten's film, which tells the story of a West German man between 1982 and 1998 and his inability to forget his first love, sold 88,016 tickets over the weekend for third place and the second highest screen average of the week.

Learning To Lie stars Susanne Bormann, Fabian Busch, Fritzi Haberlandt and Birgit Minichmayr. Meanwhile X-Verleih stablemate Good Bye, Lenin! continues to hold a place in the top 15 after 30 weeks on release and has now received nearly 6.25m admissions.

At the top of the chart was BVI's Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl. The pirate adventure helped the total box office for the top 15 to a 57% jump on last week and a 89% rise against the same weekend last year.
