Munich-based production outfit Allmedia is to expand into feature film production with the arrival of Uwe Schott as a joint managing director alongside Heike Richter-Karst.

"We have built up a reputation for quality TV productions and now the next step is to establish a feature film strand which can benefit from this know-how", Richter-Karst explained.

Schott, whose previous company Modern Media served as producer on behalf of the two Mediastream private film funds for such films as The Fast And The Furious, will be bring projects he had developed at Modern Media to pursue under the Allmedia label.

The two feature projects currently in development at Allmedia are an adaptation by Sarah Provost of the bestselling book Mein Weg Fuehrt Nach Tibet, based on the novel of the same name by Sabriye Tenberken who traveled to Tibet at the age of 24 to establish a training center for the blind.

Financing to be closed this year to shoot next year at original locations for this English-language project. According to Richter-Karst, Telepool has optioned world rights with German public broadcaster BR taking the German rights.

In addition, Allmedia is looking to complete financing for a shoot this year of the romantic comedy Romeo, Julia Und Andere Versager, to be co-scripted by Harry Goeckeritz and director Vivian Naefe.
