UIP's Gladiator has clocked up $200m internationally as of Monday 24 July, bringing its worldwide total to $380m.

This tally makes it a strong contender for a place in the top five chart of worldwide hits this year after Toy Story 2 and Mission: Impossible 2 which will also take $400m plus by the end of the year.

The number of UK cinema-goers flocking to Gladiator have far out-paced any other territory, raking in a total of $43m after two months on release. And it continues to play well in France beating off competition from the opening of The Patriot after four weeks at number one.

Only three openings remain on Gladiator's release schedule, with New Zealand rolling it out this weekend, followed by Indonesia and Greece on 18 August.
