Global Film School (GFS),the virtual film school jointly founded by UCLA's School of Theater Filmand Television, the Australian Film Television and Radio School and theNational Film And Television School of Great Britain, has signed a strategicagreement with Fox Searchlab offering Fox Searchlab's film-makerprogramme to GFS's student base.

Under the terms of theagreement, Fox Searchlab, a director programme created by Fox SearchlightPictures to discover film-makers and help them make their first short film,will award one production scholarship to the top candidate from GFS's internationalstudent base. The candidate will be flown from his or her hometown to LosAngeles, where Fox Searchlab will provide creative resources and a first-lookdeal with Fox Searchlight Pictures.

GFS Is an online universitydedicated to the art of film-making. Its second session of courses is currentlyunderway following a first sesson that attracted 85 students from 20 countries.Among the courses are 'Screenwriting Fundamentals' by RichardWalter of UCLA and 'Elements Of Great Film-making' taught by YuriMakino of the University Of Arizona. Classes are conduced online through audiolectures, interactive modules, video streaming and live-chat discussions.

Among the guest lecturersthis session are actor Matthew Perry, former Warner Bros co-chief Terry Semeland Universal Studios chairman Stacy Snider, who are all participating in theGFS Shoot Out seminars hosted by Mandalay Entertaiment head Peter Guber.
