Milkshake Films and IconEntertainment finished filming the first part of the $100m football trilogy Goal!on April 4 in Los Angeles.
The film, directed by DannyCannon, follows the life of a young Latino footballer from East Los Angeles.who fulfils his lifelong dream as he moves to the UK to play football for topPremiership team Newcastle United.
Kuno Becker plays the leadrole of Santiago in the film with Stephen Dillane, Alessandro Nivola, and AnnaFriel also cast. Footballers DavidBeckham and Zinedine Zidane also make appearances.
The film is produced by MikeJefferies and Matt Barrelle. Buena Vista International has international rightsto the film, while Latino targeted film label Arenas Entertainment has USrights. The film is looking for a late summer 2005 release in the UK.
The second instalment isexpected to start shooting in 2006.
