Goetz Spielmann's Revanche has been selected as Austria's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at next year's Academy Awards.

The rural drama had its world premiere in the Panorama Special section of the Berlinale in February and is handled internationally by The Match Factory.
To date, Revanche has received 10 prizes and been shown at 27 international festivals, most recently in Telluride and Toronto, picking up the prize for best screenplay and the Audience Award at the Monterrey International Film Festival in Mexico.
Moreover, the film was awarded the Diagonale Grand Prix for Best Austrian Feature Film 2007/2008 and the prize for best cinematography (Martin Gschlacht) at the annual showcase of Austrian filmmaking in Graz in April.
Revanche is also on the list of films being considered for nomination for the 2008 European Film Awards and the European Parliament's LUX award this autumn.
