Continuing the strength of the UK box office, Park Circus' re-release of 1964 James Bond classic Goldfinger grossed $85,561 (£42,000) on Tuesday, July 31 as a one-night-only special presentation.

The film, newly digitally restored by Lowrey Digital, showed digitally in 136 cinemas across the UK.

Goldfinger was the opening film in the BBC and UK Film Council's Summer Of British Film series.

Nick Varley of Park Circus said: 'This is the first time such a wide release has been attempted for a classic film, and we are very pleased with the results. The possibilities that digital cinema has to offer means that, in the future, we will be looking to make more classic and back catalogue films available in this format.'
