Valeria Golino (Respiro, Frida) has just finished shooting a new Italian film, entitled Prendimi E Portami Via.

Written and directed by Tonino Zangardi, the film focuses on a young Roman boy who falls in love with a gypsy girl. Rodolfo Lagana' stars alongside Golino in the film, which is produced by Verdecchi Film and will be distributed in Italy by Istituto Luce.

The Rome-based company is also lining up Ora E Per Sempre, a film about the history of the Turin football club, which was the most successful team in Italy when its players were all killed in an airplane crash near Turin in the 1940s.

Written and directed by Vincenzo Verdecchi, the $4m film will star Italian pin-up Alessandro Gassman and veteran stage actor Giorgio Albertazzi. It starts shooting in Turin and London next month.

VerdecchiFilm is also in post-production on Like Bad Dream, which stars Freddy Krueger actor Robert Englund. The Macedonian government is co-producing.
