Film financier Media Rights Capital (MRC) has appointed Dan Goodman as
president of digital media.

Goodman will be responsible for shaping and executing MRC's digital
strategy across broadband, mobile, gaming, Video On Demand and other
emerging platforms.

Formerly chief digital officer for Ogilvy, Goodman will focus on developing premium content for the entertainment arenas and building a network of distribution partners.

'We are thrilled to welcome Dan to our team,' MRC's co-founder and co-chief executive officer Modi Wiczyk said. 'Dan not only saw digital media's potential but found ways to make money in the space long before his peers.'

'I believe the opportunity in digital to be on a massive growth curve,' Goodman added. 'As such, we plan to invest up to $10m in 2007 alone to create the most compelling digital entertainment and provide the most innovative advertising opportunities to brand marketers.'

Los Angeles and New York-based MRC has helped finance Babel, Borat, and the upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen comedy Bruno and Cameron Diaz thriller The Box.
