The UK's Granada Film has closed a significant pre-sale to Germany with Telepool on romantic comedy All American Man.

The German company bought all rights to the film, which writer-director Craig Ferguson is to shoot in January.

"It's a real coup," said Penny Wolf, head of sales. "We have not heard of any other pre-buys for Germany."

The film, which also stars Olivia Williams and Brenda Blethyn, has also gone to Medusa for Italy and Scanbox for Scandinavia.

Granada's line-up includes Roofworld with Fine Line/New Line, Charles Sturridge's Disgrace, Peter Hewitt's Giraffe and Kirsten Dunst picture Found In The Street. The company also backed The Gathering, which Capitol Films sold to Dimension Films at Cannes.
