Quinzaine entry Filme De Amor tops the slate of leading Brazilian sales company Grupo Novo de Cinema e TV which comes to Cannes with some of its strongest titles to date.

"I think we'll see happy times for Brazilian cinema at the Cannes Marche this year. We'll be taking a highly diverse and very hot slate - probably the best in years," said Grupo Novo head Tarcisio Vidigal.

Aside from Grupo Novo production, Filme De Amor, the company brings such high-profile titles as The Man of the Year (O Homem do Ano), by Jose Henrique Fonseca, winner of the SKYY Prize at the 46th San Francisco International Film Festival and the Prix Sang Neuf at Cognac (2003). Optimum Releasing already has acquired the UK rights.

Other award winning titles in Grupo Novo's feature film slate include the directorial debut of Claudio Assis, Mango Yellow (Amarelo Manga); romantic comedy Breaking Up (Separacoes) by Domingos de Oliveira and The Storytellers (Narradores de Jave) by Eliane Caffe.

Documentaries include Master, A Building In Copacabana (Edificio Master), directed by acclaimed Brazilian documentary filmmaker, Eduardo Coutinho; Window Of The Soul (Janela Da Alma) by Joao Jardim and Walter Carvalho and Viva St. John (Viva Sao Joao) by Andrucha Waddington.
