Spanish consortium Grupo Pi hasclosed a string of sales on its slate of local films, including a USpay TV and video deal with HBO for first-time feature director Guillem Morales' thriller The Uninvited Guest.

Grupo Pi general directorGeraldine Gonard said: "It is not easy forSpanish-language films to break into the USmarket so we are very happy with this deal."

Pi also announced a 13-title package deal to Venevision for video and second-run pay TV in the US.

The first title, Mariano Barroso'sAnts In TheMouth (Hormigas En La Boca), is expected to goout through Warner Video in spring 2006.

Following strong results with Daniela Fejermanand Ines Paris' MyMother Likes Women (A Mi Madre Le Gustan Las Mujeres) last year, Italy'sAB Films was one of several distributors to pick up the duo's newest comedy, Semen, A LoveSample (Semen, Una HistoriaDe Amor).

It also sold to Benelux (CNC), Greece (PCV), Hungary,ex-Yugoslavia, Slovenia,Macedonia (Cinetel), and Lap TV for pay TV in Latin America.
