GreeneStreet Films International (GSFI) will arrive in Cannes buoyed by the acquisition of worldwide rights to Cecilia Miniucchi's Critics Week romantic comedy Expired.

Sales chief Ariel Veneziano will introduce to the project to buyers at the market next week. Expired stars Samantha Morton and Jason Patric as diametrically opposed characters who work as traffic wardens and fall in love. Teri Garr and Illeana Douglas also star.

Miniucchi wrote the screenplay to the sidebar's closing night film, which is the only US entry in the section and which premiered at Sundance at the beginning of the year.

Jeffrey Coulter and Francis Ford Coppola's longtime collaborator Fred Roos produced, and Antoni Stutz, Alexander Shing and Lawrence Wang served as executive producers. Veneziano negotiated the deal with Coulter and Roos.

GSFI's Cannes sales slate includes the Plum Pictures drama Laws Of Motion with Hilary Swank, mystery drama The Nines with Ryan Reynolds, comedy Gary The Tennis Coach starring Seann William Scott, and the Russell Crowe thriller Tenderness.
