The Hamptons International Film Festival has partnered with European Film Promotion to showcase talent from the European Shooting Stars programme, marking the first time the talent campus will come to the US.

The festival runs from October 15-19 and will present three stars from the Shooting Stars programme, now in its 12th year. They are: Maryam Hassouni from the Dutch drama Dunya & Desie, Anamaria Marinca from the Romanian comedy-drama Boogie and Hannah Herzsprung from the German TV production Werther, who also appears alongside Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes in The Weinstein Company's upcoming drama The Reader.

Festival organisers will offer their usual support to the Rising Stars talent programme, now in its seventh year. The three beneficiaries are Jake Abel from Flash Of Genius, Kate Mara from Stone Of Destiny and Taylor Kitsch from Gospel Hill. Frances McDormand will mentor the trio at the festival.

'Through the Shooting Stars initiative we have seen many talented young actors emerge and move into very successful careers in film,' European Film Promotion managing director Renate Rose said. 'Our aim in this new venture is to actively include the actors in the marketing of their films, and at the same time, to help them make the jump from national to international recognition. '

'The process of recognising up-and-coming talent each year for the Rising Stars showcase is thrilling,' Rising Stars programme director Lina Todd said. 'The enthusiasm these young actors inject into the festival is truly contagious.'

Announcements on additional festival features, programmes, events and guests will follow.
