UK-based sales company HanWay has added thriller Scheherazade, starring Juliette Binoche and Laurence Fishburne, to its busy Cannes slate.

Director Michael Apted, whose credits include Enigma and The World Is Not Enough, is to start shooting the thriller in the autumn, according to buyers. The film, named after the king's wife in The Arabian Nights, is a contemporary thriller set in Los Angeles.

HanWay has also been generating buyer interest with another addition to its Cannes slate: Don't Come Knocking, a contemporary Western to be directed this autumn by Wim Wenders. Sam Shepherd, who wrote the script, stars with Jean Reno and Jessica Lange.

HanWay has David Mackenzie's Young Adam, starring Ewan McGregor, in Un Certain Regard. The sales outfit is also selling Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers, Khyentse Norbu's Travelers And Magicians and Noah Baumbach's The Squid And The Whale.
