Ford will collect the honour at the 26th Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards in Hollywood on Feb 12 in recognition of his “extraordinary achievements to advancing the art and craft of filmmaking.”
“Harrison Ford is a talented and focused actor whose professionalism has earned the admiration of our members,” ASC Awards chairman Richard Crudo said. “His diverse, and still evolving, body of work includes too many memorable motion pictures to list.”
Ford earned an Academy Award nomination in 1986 for Witness. In 2000, the American Film Institute bestowed him with its Lifetime Achievement Award. He has earned for Golden Globe nominations and in 2002 received the Hollywood Foreign Press’ Cecil B DeMille Award.
His credits include Blade Runner, The Mosquito Coast, the Star Wars franchise, Patriot Games, The Fugitive, Clear And Present Danger and K-19: The Widowmaker.
Ford is currently preparing for a role in the children’s sci-fi adaptation Ender’s Game and will star in 42 as Branch Rickey, the Major League Baseball executive who made Jackie Robinson the first African-American player in the senior baseball league.
