Mexican actress Salma Hayek is poised to return to Mexico where she may direct and play the lead in a comedy she is presently co writing.

Guadalajara, Mexico-based Anhelo Films will co produce El Hombre De La Casa Enfrente along with Hayek's Los Angeles-based company Ventanarosa Productions.

Initially launched by director Alfonso Cuaron and partner Jorge Vergara to produce international hit Y Tu Mama Tambien, Anhelo Films has since made two other features, Cronicas and The Assassination Of Richard Nixon, both currently in post-production.

El Hombre De La Casa Enfrente is billed as a comedy about an American drug dealer married to a Mexican woman.

Among Anhelo's various projects in the pipeline is Futbol (Soccer) which would reunite Y Tu Mama Tambien leads Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna. Other projects are Princesas, to be shot in Madrid and directed by Spain's Fernando Leon de Aranoa (Los Lunes Al Sol), and Tokyo Boogie, co written and to be co directed by Uruguayan native Pablo Casacuberta and Japanese-born Yukihiko Goto. The latter is slated to start shooting in Uruguay by the end of the year.
