Momentum’s adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s novel crosses the £1m mark.

Headhunters has become the highest grossing foreign language release this year at the UK box office.

Following a drop of just 35% in its third week, Morten Tyldum’s thriller - based on Jo Nesbø’s novel of the same name - has now grossed $1.7m (£1.04m), surpassing the recent strong performance of Eros’ Housefull 2.

The performance of Momentum’s adaptation compares favourably with the distributor’s release of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in 2010 which stood at $2.1m (£1.3m) after the same period, but had played more widely than Headhunters - a peak of 126 sites compared with Headhunters’ 102.

Produced by Yellow Bird, Headhunters is the first novel of Nesbø’s to be adapted for film.
