Motion Picture Association Of America chairman and CEO Chris Dodd made the announcement on Wednesday (5).

As svp and global general counsel Hoberman will oversee all legal, content enforcement and rights management activities. He will assume his new position in early November.

Hoberman has close to 25 years experience in the media and entertainment industry and since 2008 served as evp and general counsel of RHI Entertainment.

Has has held various senior positions at ABC and The Walt Disney Company and prior to Disney he was an equity partner in the Media and Communications Group at Baker & Hostetler.

“Henry’s experience within the film and television industry and his breadth of knowledge of the many serious challenges facing the entertainment community will be a tremendous resource to the MPAA,” Dodd said.
