High Point Films, the theatrical sales arm of High Point Media Group, has taken world rights, outside UK and North America, for British horror Mum & Dad.

Produced by Lisa Trnovski of 2am Films, Mum & Dad is the first film to be completed through Film London's Microwave, a production scheme for emerging film makers from the capital. EM Media and BBC Films also provided backing.

The first feature for writer, director, Steven Sheil Mum & Dad follows a Polish Heathrow airport worker into a living nightmare after missing the last bus home. She is persuaded to stay the night by a colleague whose family home turns out to be a house of horrors. The cast includes Dido Miles and Perry Benson.

Lisa Trnovski said, 'We are absolutely thrilled to be working with a company as well established and experienced as High Point. They have a deservedly robust reputation for handling strong, distinctive films internationally. It's fantastic to have such a clearly dedicated team on board.' High Point's slate includes George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead.

Mum & Dad is screening in Sitges, Spain, this month in advance of its market launch at AFM. Revolver Entertainment has the UK rights and is planning a day and date multi-platform release, with the film being available simultaneously through theatrical, DVD and online platforms on Boxing Day. The strategy has attracted controversy, with the UK's Cinema Exhibitors Association calling on members to boycott Revolver's release.
