Swiss theatre and film director Urs Odermatt'sadaptation of George Tabori's stage farce MeinKampf about the creation of the 'monster Hitler', is among 12film projects and five screenplays backed with a total of $1.86m (Euros 1.45m)by Germany's State Minister for Culture Bernd Neumann.

Odermatt's film will beproduced by the Berlin-based production outfit Schiwago Film who previouslyhandled Bye Bye Berlusconi and As Quiet As A Mouse.

Other projects supported inthis latest round of funding include Serbian filmmaker Stefan Arsenijevic'sfeature debut Love and Other Crimes tobe produced by Icon Film as a German-Serbian-Slovenian coproduction with AnicaDobra in the female lead; As Quiet As A Mouse directorial duo JanHenrik Stahlberg and Marcus Mittermeier's new comedy Short Cut To Hollywood; Peter Schamoni's documentary Botero - Der Umgekehrte Kolumbus aboutthe painter and sculptor Fernando Botero; and new features by Maren Ade (Alle Anderen) and Conny Walther (Schattenwelt).
