France's TF1 International is in advanced negotiations with Hollywood studios over English language remake rights to the Audrey Tautou-starrer He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (A La Folie, Pas Du Tout). Several US production outfits are lining up to buy, including frontrunner 20th Century Fox.

He Loves Me is produced by Charles Gassot's Telema, which recently sold remake rights to Etienne Chatilliez comedy Tanguy to Miramax. He Loves Me is a romance/suspense film by first time director Laetitia Colombani which co-stars Samuel Le Bihan (Brotherhood Of Wolves) alongside Amelie star Tautou.

Head of international sales Perrine Teze has already sold the film's US rights to Samuel Goldwyn Films and some 35 to 40 other territories are already sold, including the UK (Optimum), Japan (Comstock) and Spain (Planeta) and Germany (Prokino).

He Loves Me is the latest in a line of French films which have been picked up for remake by North American players : as well as Tanguy, Miramax has taken remake rights to The Closet and With A Friend Like Harry, while Alliance Atlantis has just updated 1950s classic Bob Le Flambeur as The Honest Thief.
