The Presentations comprise a restored version of Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard on Saturday (3) and a chance to see finallists in the Levi’s Show Us The Way Short Film Showcase on Nov 7.

The line-up includes Leslie Zemeckis in conversation following a screening of her documentary Bound By Flesh on Friday (2) and a conversation with musician and director Ariana Delawari and producer Yasmine Delawari followed by a screening of their documentary We Came Home on Nov 6.

The Conversations series presents a Young Hollywood Roundtable, an interview with The Sessions writer-director Ben Lewin and star John Hawkes and a spotlight on Jack Black and his recent film Bernie.

There will be an additional screening of Pálfi György’s Final Cut – Ladies & Gentlemen on Nov 7.

  • AFI FEST and the AFM have teamed up on a screening programme to help filmmakers whose titles do not have international sales representation.

The initiative will take place on Nov 6 and the films are: Here And There (Aquí Y Allá) from writer-director Antonio Méndez Esparza, Nairobi Half Life from David Tosh Gitonga and Starlet from co-writer-director Sean Baker.

“The new screening programme at the AFM has so much potential,” said AFI FEST director Jacqueline Lyanga.

“It is going to give our AFI FEST filmmakers a chance to bring their films to the market to find representation; it’s going to get their films directly in front of sales agents and buyers, and we hope that it will ultimately help these films get distributed internationally.”
