Gaumont is kicking off sales on Anthony Marciano’s Brats (Les Gamins) starring Alain Chabat as an adolescent father-in-law, caught up in a mid-life crisis, who tries to lead his daughter’s fiancé astray.

It has been a busy year for Chabat: his live-action comedy Houba! On the Trail of the Marsupilami clocked up some five million admissions in France in the first half of 2012 and in between the release and Brats shoot, the actor also found time to hit the set of Michel Gondry’s Blue Indigo.

Produced by Alain Goldman’s Legende and also starring Sandrine Kiberlain and Max Boubli, Brats is due to hit French screens in April 2013.

Gaumont is also handling a second Legende production: Michel Youn’s €16m comedy Viva La France, about terrorists with designs on the Eiffel Tower whose plans are blown when their plane re-routes to Corsica. The film will be released on 500 copies next February.

Other hot titles on the AFM slate include Guillaume Gallienne’s semi-biographical comedy Me Myself and Mum about his “heterosexual coming-out” in the face of his mother’s conviction that he was gay.

Gallienne stars opposite Diane Kruger and François Fabien in the film, which is currently shooting in France and then Spain. Germany’s Concorde/TeleMunchen recently pre-bought the film.

Buyers will also have another opportunity to check Noémie Lvovsky’s Camille Rewinds, which has sold 800,000 tickets in France since its release on Sept 12. Recent deals include to Germany (Movienet), CIS (Paradise) and Argentina (CDI).
