EXCLUSIVE: Sales consultancy 7&7 also adds thrillers Vampires vs Leprechauns and DEADlocked.

British comedy Papadopoulos and Sons has been selected for a special screening for MEPs at European Parliament in Brussels on Nov 13. Stephen Dillane and Georges Corraface play estranged brothers who have to work together following the financial crisis.

Director Marcus Markou, a Londoner of Greek descent, said: “The ideas of renewal, of family coming together during a crisis, of championing the small business over the corporate entity have definitely struck a chord with audiences. The EU screening to Members of the European Parliament is exciting and something I never imagined.”

Hollywood Entertainment will release in Greece and Neue Visionen in Germany. The film is expected to be released theatrically in the UK early 2013.

Maura Ford of 7&7 Producers Sales Service is selling remaining territoies on the film.

7&7 is also bringing two new genre films to buyers at AFM: comedy horror Vampires vs Leprechauns and bankers vs zombies horror film DEADlocked. Inception Media Group has taken North American rights to both.

Both films are produced by Causeway Pictures’ Chris Patterson and Paddy McCarney and backed by Norhtern Ireland Screen. Spencer Wright both scripts.

Vampires vs. Leprechauns will be directed by Allan Gildea and DEADlocked by Ryan Tohill.

7&7’s managing director Maura Ford said: “Until now we have not been drawn to the horror genre, but these two titles are so clever and well written, we immediately jumped on board and know they will be a great success globally.”

Causeway’s Chris Patterson agreed: “Spence Wright has written two great stories using some of the most iconic figures in both Irish mythology and the horror genre. The undead and some wee folk, who wouldn’t want to see that?”
