Despicable Me’s most memorable creation is set to take over the world next summer.

Minions

Even in a summer that sees the release of the likes of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World, Minions could be set to take over the world.

Yes, Despicable Me’s most memorable creation is back and now Universal has released the first hilarious trailer for Minions, that sees them search for the most despicable leader to follow throughout history (and some fantastical history too).

Three Minions - Kevin, Stuart and Bob - then find themselves in 1960s New York City and their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock).

Despicable Me 2 - powered by a Minion-centric marketing campaign - grossed almost $1bn at the worldwide box office last year, almost double the $543.1m haul of the first film, so don’t be surprised to see Minions in cinema foyers throughout summer 2015, let alone in the toy shops.

Directed by Pierre Coffin & Kyle Balda and written by Brian Lynch, Minions is out in UK cinemas on June 26, 2015.
