France shot to victory at the annual European Cinema Ski Cup competition in Les Arcs, which also saw one high profile disqualification.

Around 50 film-makers and distributors lined up to brave testing conditions at the Alpine resort, taking part in a timed slalom event.
Rémi Burah, deputy managing director of Arte Cinema, finished first in a speedy 30.98secs.

Strictly speaking, festival co-founder Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin was quickest, coming in at 30.67secs, but was just skiing for fun… and is a bit of an expert, having grown up on skis in Les Arcs.

The only disqualification -missing one slalom pole - was for the festival’s artistic director, Frédéric Boyer, who managed a respectable 35.04secs.
