Pierre Ange Le Pogam shows test shots of Nicole Kidman playing Princess Grace in Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco.

Pierre Ange Le Pogam of Stone Angels this weekend debuted screen tests of Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly in the forthcoming Grace of Monaco, which starts shooting this week in France before moving on to Belgium.

Olivier Dahan directs the biopic, which also stars Tim Roth, Parker Posey, Frank Langella and Paz Vega. Le Pogam produces with Uday Chopra of YRF Entertainment and screenwriter Arash Amel. The film will be finished for 2013.

Kidman looked luminous (and something of a ringer for Grace Kelly) in a perfect blond coiffure and fashions including classic chemise dresses, oversized hats and glamorous sunglasses. The test footage wasn’t shown with any dialogue (it wasn’t a scene from the film), but set against an operatic score. (By the way that’s the real Grace, not Nicole, pictured. But you get an idea of the shades.)

Stone Angels is also working on coming-of-age story La Crème de la Crème, from director Kim Chapiron (Dog Pound). Works in progress footage of that project showed a lot of beautiful, wealthy young kids partaking in sex and dancing and drugs.

The company also has English-language zombie story Maggie by Henry Hobson, to start Chloe Moretz and Paddy Considine and to shoot in early 2013.
