A new community cinema project, Screenwaves, is helping to bring the big screen to the people of rural Yorkshire.
Watching films on the big screen is about to get a whole lot easier for people living in the rural villages of North Yorkshire from this Easter, thanks to a new community cinema project called Screenwaves.
Screenwaves, which is being organised by Zoe Naylor, will transform village halls community centres, schools and even a Georgian watermill dating from 1755 into pop up cinemas as well as presenting the UK’s first film screening run entirely from hydro power.
Films being screened will include Richard Ayoade’s Submarine, Oscar winning The King’s Speech.
