Kevin Spacey plays three very different leads in the winning films to come out of Jameson’s First Shot short film competition.

Kevin Spacey plays a frustrated ventriloquist, a dentist yearning adventure and a Russian letter writer accused of being a spy in the three winning films to come out of Jameson’s First Shot international short film competition – which gave writer/directors from South Africa, Russia and the US their “first shot” in the film industry.

Backed by Trigger Street Productions the three winning directors - US film-maker Benjamin Leavitt (The Ventriloquist), South African film-maker Alan Shelley (Spirit Of A Denture) and Russian film-maker Aleksey Nuzhniy (Envelope) were given the chance to fly to LA to make their short films with Kevin Spacey in the lead role.

The films premiered in Johannesburg, Moscow and New York.

Meanwhile entries are already open for next year’s competition, which will again focus on upcoming directors from South Africa, Russia or the US.
