Anchor Bay Films has acquired all rights for North America, the UK and Australia/New Zealand to ShadowPeople from Arclight Films.

The supernatural thriller, produced by Michael Ohoven of Infinity Films, marks the directorial debut of Matthew Arnold and stars Dallas Roberts and Alison Eastwood in the story of a small town radio personality and a government agent who uncover a conspiracy involving encounters with mysterious beings.

“This supernatural thriller is full of suspense that unfolds in a terrifying and creative way,” said Gary Hamilton, managing director of Arclight, which screened the film at last week’s Cannes market.

Separately, Arclight’s Asian arm Easternlight announced the sale of romantic thriller Dangerous Liaisons, which also screened at Cannes, to various territories around the world.

The film, produced by Zonbo Media, which will also distribute in China, went to Shaw Media for Singapore, PT Amero Mitra for Indonesia, Galaxy Studios for Vietnam, Italia Film for Greece and the Middle East, Logo for Thailand and San Chi for Taiwan.

Airline rights went to Entertainment in Motion.

The film stars Zhang Ziyi, Jang Dong-Gun, Cecilia Cheung, Shawn Dou and Lisa Lu and is directed by Hur Jin-Ho.
