Two local productions - Wilson Yip's kung-fu romance The White Dragon and Yonfan's eroticdrama Colour Blossoms - topped theHong Kong box office in a relatively quiet week.

The White Dragon,produced by China Star and Joe Ma's Singing Horse Productions, came in firstwith US$494,598 from 35 screens. Cecilia Cheung stars as a student singer whoselife is turned upside down when she inherits the powers of a legendary femalemartial arts expert. Francis Ng and Andy On also head the cast.

Colour Blossoms,produced by Far Sun Film Co, grossed US$326,725 from 30 screens for secondplace in the chart. The upmarket erotic drama stars Hong Kong scandal queenTeresa Cheung, Japanese diva Matsuzaka Keiko and Korean transsexual Harisu in astory set inside a luxurious apartment that has been uninhabited for 30 years.

Among other openers, the US remake of Japanese horror film The Grudge came in fifth with US$107,007from 21 screens.
