Jackie Chan is set to star in an untitled police action film which will be the first fruit of a joint venture production company established by the Hong Kong star and local tycoon Albert Yeung.

The film, which is scheduled to start shooting at the end of this month, will be directed by Benny Chan who recently directed Universe Entertainment's Heroic Duo. Hong Kong stars Nicholas Tse, Terence Yin and Daniel Wu have also joined the cast.

The new production venture, JCE Movies, has been set up separately from Yeung's Emperor Multimedia Group (EMG) which has recent credits including The Medallion and The Twins Effect. However, EMG is expected to help with marketing and distribution of the new venture's movies.

According to Solon So, senior vice president of Chan's JC Group, the new venture has several other projects in development which will be unveiled later this week.

Chan, who recently finished work on Around The World In Eighty Days, is also attached to star in Media Asia's Time Breaker. The film was scheduled to start shooting this month but has been delayed until next year (see separate story).
