New additions to Screen’s European Film Index include French films Du Vent Dans Mes Mollets, Spanish feature La Voz Dormida as well as the UK’s Trance.

Carine Tardieu’s drama Du Vent Dans Mes Mollets explores the world through the eyes of a troubled nine-year-old girl. Based on the novel by Raphaële Moussafir, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Tardieu, the feature is produced by Fabrice Goldstein and Antoine Rein for Karé Productions and stars Isabelle Carre, Denis Podalydès and Agnès Jaoui. Canal +, Ciné+ (previously CinéCinéma), Sofica Banque Postale, Région Ile-de-France, Direct Cinéma and Gaumont provided financial backing towards the $7.6m budget. Shooting will continue for another 6 weeks in and around Paris. Gaumont handles international sales and will release the feature across France.

Danny Boyle is preparing the September shoot for his latest project Trance, a thriller about a heist gone wrong. Scripted by Joe Ahearne, the $16m production is being produced by Christian Colson for Cloud Eight Films. Fox Searchlight has been appointed as the North American distributor with a release planned for March 2013.

Benito Zambrano completed principal photography on La Voz Dormida. The drama is set in a women’s prison in 1940, soon after the Spanish Civil War, where women who supported the Resistance were tortured and killed. It stars Inma Cuesta and Maria Leon. Zambrano also scripted the film, which is based on the novel by Dulce Chacónandis, and is a co-production between Maestranza Films and Mirada Sur.The Match Factory handles international sales and Warner Bros. will release in Spain on October 21.
