Mandate International president Helen Lee-Kim has announced major pre-sales on Gold Circle's romantic comedy Chilled In Miami starring Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr.

Deals have closed in Australia (Icon), Germany (Telepool), South Korea (Showbox), Taiwan (CMC), Greece (Audiovisual), Poland-Czech-Hungary (SPI), Turkey (Fida), Philippines (Viva), Romania-Bulgaria (Mediapro), Middle East (Gulf), and to Entertainment in the UK through Gold Circle Films.

Production is set to begin in Manitoba/Winnipeg on Jan 7. Denmark's Jonas Elmer will direct from a script by Kenneth J Rance about a corporate high-flyer who travels to a small town to close down a plant where she falls in love with a local man.

Gold Circle's Paul Brooks is producing with Peter Safran, Darryl Taja and Tracey Edmonds. Norm Waitt and Scott Niemeyer are serving as executive producers.

The recently expanded Mandate International evolved from the merger between Lionsgate and Mandate Pictures and handles international rights on films from Lionsgate, Mandate Pictures, Ghost House, Gold Circle, and other third parties.

Mandate International's AFM slate includes Jim Sherdian's English-language remake of Danish hit Brothers starring Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal; romantic comedy Bachelor No. 2 with Kate Hudson and Dane Cook; and The Eye starring Jessica Alba.
