IFC Entertainment and RedEnvelope Entertainment have jointly acquired North American rights fromSubmarine Entertainment and William Morris Independent to the documentary AnUnreasonable Man.

The film, which was recentlyshortlisted for the 2007 documentary feature Oscar, will open on Jan 31 2007through IFC's multi-platform division IFC First Take, which to date hasreleased 16 films.

Henriette Mantel and SteveSkrovan's film profiles the life and career of Ralph Nader, one of the mostunique and mysterious US political figures of recent times. Kevin O'Donnellproduced.

"An Unreasonable Man is a documentary sure to strike a chord withAmericans in the way that only Ralph Nader can," IFC Entertainmentpresident Jonathan Sehring said. "It represents the true independentspirit of filmmaking and furthers the rapid expansion of our First Takeslate."

Sehring and Liz Nastro andJonathan Sehring negotiated for IFC with Josh Braun of Submarine Entertainmentand Phil Alberstat of William Morris. Jackie Eckhouse of Sloss Law acted aslegal consultant for the filmmakers.
