Spanish sales outfit Imagina has obtained the sales rights to Woody Allen’s new project and will present it for the first time to distributors at Cannes.

The as yet untitled Woody Allen project is set to shoot this summer in London and will star Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin. Spanish outfit MediaPro is producing alongside Gravier Productions in the US.

MediaPro, which owns Imagina Sales, signed a deal at the beginning of last year to finance Woody Allen’s next three projects, having already worked with the director on Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

This is the first time Imagina has taken the sales rights to a Woody Allen project, and the first time ever a Spanish company has handled one of his films. Vicky Cristina Barcelona was handled by Wild Bunch.

Imagina will also present Isabel Coixet’s new film Map Of The Sounds Of Tokyo at Cannes where it will feature in competition alongside Pedro Almodovar’s Broken Embraces.
