IMAX Corp. and US television sales outfit Northstar Media have signed a multi-media distribution agreement that will see Northstar handling worldwide rights on a 21-title package of HD IMAX titles for television, VOD, mobile, and broadband.

Compiled under the moniker, the IMAX XXI Film Package, the library slate features such films as Walking On The Moon 3D, Space Station, Into The Deep, T-Rex: Back To The Cretaceous and reaches back to the format's break-through space exploration titles such as Hail Columbia, The Dream Is Alive and Blue Planet.

In a statement, IMAX Filmed Entertainment chairman and president Greg Foster said the deal expands the giant-screen company's footprint into the HD television realm. Northstar co-president Andy Weir said the deal was exciting not only through the strength of the IMAX brand and the commercial success of the titles but also the fact that the content was already in HD.
