IMAX Corporationwill digitally remaster and release Twentieth Century Fox's upcoming animatedfamily feature Robotsin IMAX theatres day-and-date with the picture's conventional release on Mar 112005.

"The spectacular CGI effects in this movie are perfect forIMAX's immersive format and will look amazing in IMAX theatres," Bruce Snyder,president of domestic distribution at Twentieth Century Fox, said in astatement.

"IMAX offersmoviegoers a whole new way to experience Hollywood movies. We are thrilled toextend our relationship with IMAX and look forward to releasing additionalevent films in their fantastic format."

Robots marks director Chris Wedge's firstcollaboration with Fox since Ice Age, which opened in 2002 and went on to gross more than $382mworldwide.

The storycentres on a young inventor whose plan to build friendly robots is thwarted bya corporate tyrant. Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Greg Kinnear, Jim Broadbent,Amanda Bynes and Robin Williams are among the voice talent.

"This agreement with Twentieth Century Fox is furtherproof that studios are embracing IMAX DMR releases as a way to launch eventfilms, deliver a unique and premium experience to consumers and increase boxoffice performance," IMAX Co-chief executive officers Richard L Gelfond andBradley J Wechsler added.

"We're excitedto have Robots as ourfirst confirmed commercial title for 2005 and expect to announce other greatmovies soon - which we believe will be instrumental in driving continuedtheatre signings momentum."
