IMAX has signed a deal with leading Korean exhibitor CJ CGV Coto add a fifth giant screen theatre to its original four-theatre commitment inPusan's Seomyun 12 multiplex.

The new theatre is scheduled to open in time for the release of SupermanReturns: The IMAX Experience on Jun 30.

The decision to add a fifth screen follows impressive box officeresults from Korea's first two multiplex-based IMAX theatres in Seoul andIncheon.

These two theatres have grossed a combined total box office of$770,062 for Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, and $794,289 for The Polar Express in less than two months. V ForVendetta has taken$120,708 in both theatres in two weeks.

'CJ CGV's ability to market the IMAX brand in creative andtailored ways has generated more consumer awareness in Korea and we areconfident that our exciting 2006 film slate will continue to drive demand forthe IMAX experience in this important market,' IMAX co-chairmen andco-chief executive officers Richard L Gelfond and Bradley J Wechsler said in astatement.
